FAQs
Please read our FAQs page to find out more.
How exactly does the dual-fuel hybrid heating system work?
The Condor gives you complete control over how you heat your water by utilizing two independent heating sources:
- The Wood Burner: An ultra-efficient, integrated marine-grade stainless steel furnace. When you light a fire, it draws cold water from the bottom of the tub, heats it inside a sealed chamber surrounding the firebox, and returns hot water to the top via natural convection (thermo-siphoning). This does the heavy lifting, heating the full 1,600 liters rapidly at a fraction of the cost of electricity.
- The Electric Heater: A built-in smart 3kW spa element managed by an onboard digital thermostat or your smartphone app. Once the wood fire brings the tub up to temperature, the electric system simply sips power to maintain your exact target temperature (e.g., 38°C) all week long, while simultaneously running automated filtration and freeze-protection cycles.
How long does it take to heat up from cold?
Because the Condor holds approximately 1,600 liters of water, heating times depend on your starting water temperature and the quality of your firewood.
- Using the Wood Burner: From a stone-cold tap start (around 12°C–15°C), a well-stoked hardwood fire will bring the tub to a perfect 38°C soaking temperature in 2 to 3.5 hours.
- Using Electric Only: The 3kW electric heater is designed primarily for continuous temperature maintenance and automated heat retention. Heating from absolute scratch using electric power alone will typically increase the temperature by roughly 1.5°C to 2°C per hour.
What kind of water treatment and chemicals does the 316 stainless steel require?
Unlike plastic, vinyl, or acrylic spas, the Condor’s premium 316 marine-grade stainless steel interior is smooth, non-porous, and naturally hygienic. This makes it incredibly easy to wipe clean and highly resistant to bacterial buildup.
- Sanitation: Thanks to the integrated high-output Ozone Purification System and continuous cartridge filtration, your reliance on heavy harsh chemicals is drastically reduced.
- Chemical Care: You should maintain a standard balanced water environment with a pH between 7.2 and 7.6. Because 316 stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion, you can safely use minimal amounts of standard water sanitizers. However, avoid excessive over-chlorination or bromine, as extreme chemical spikes can eventually damage any metal surface over a prolonged lifetime.
How often do I need to completely change the water?
In a traditional wood-fired tub without filtration, water must be dumped every 2 to 3 days. However, because the Condor is a true hybrid equipped with a dedicated low-velocity circulation pump, a heavy-duty physical cartridge filter, and automated ozone sanitation, your water remains clear and safe for months. With typical family use and proper pH balancing, you will only need to drain and refill the tub every 3 to 4 months.
Can I install the Condor on an existing timber deck?
Yes, but it requires professional engineering validation. When filled with 1,600 liters of water and hosting up to 7 adults, the Condor represents a concentrated structural load of approximately 2.2 to 2.4 tonnes. Standard residential timber entertainment decks are typically built to support 200kg per square meter (2kPa), which is insufficient. Your deck must be structurally reinforced with additional under-joist bearers and concrete footings directly beneath the tub's footprint to safely distribute the weight.
